Wide Metal Temples The arms flare into broad flat metal panels at the hinge, which is where all the visual weight of the frame lives. The metal is polished rather than brushed, so it picks up light along the full length of the arm. From the side you get a solid band of gold; from the front the frame nearly disappears.
